TESCO LAUNCHES PUBLICITY BOARD

SUPERMARKET giant Tesco has given Burnham-On-Sea RNLI a publicity boost. The town's store in Ben Travers Way has installed an RNLI notice board near the checkouts so shoppers can keep up to date with lifeboat news. Full details

SEA SAFETY CHECKS FOR SAILORS

TWO Burnham-On-Sea yachtsmen have been presented with RNLI sea safety stickers after completing safety checks conducted by David Humphrey, Sea Safety Advisor at the town's RNLI Station. A Sea Safety Check is not a pass or fail. Full details

CREW VISITS BRISTOL REGATTA

LIFEBOAT crews from Burnham-On-Sea participated in the annual Bristol Harbour Regatta on Saturday August 2nd. The crew spoke to members of the public about the role of the RNLI as well as demonstrating how a capsized lifeboat can righted. Full details

'PUFFIN' IS BACK IN BURNHAM

BURNHAM-On-Sea RNLI station has welcomed back Puffin, its D-Class lifeboat, to the station. After a scheduled refit lasting several months, the lifeboat finally returned to active service on July 18th at its home lifeboat station. Full details

LIFEBOAT CREW ON THEIR BIKES

A TEAM
of Burnham-On-Sea lifeboat station supporters is to cycle more than 90 miles to Poole later this month to raise funds for the charity. The team - called 'Coast To Coast' - will set off on their bikes fro Burnham on June 14th as they cycle to the RNLI HQ in Dorset. Full details

£5,800 DONATION FOR RNLI

FIDDINGTON resident Belinda Llewelyn-Jones has handed over a total of £5,800 to Burnham-On-Sea RNLI Lifeboat station after completing the London Marathon in five hours and three minutes. Belinda raised almost half the money online

DISABLED FISHING BOAT RESCUED

Burnham-On-Sea RNLI launched on Friday morning (November 14th) to help a fishing boat in difficulty in the River Parrett. The 17ft boat had experienced a critical steering gear failure upstream of Combwich and the boat’s owner called for help. Full details

A 25ft trimaran with two people onboard, including one who Coastguards have dubbed 'Captain Calamity', has been rescued for the second time in 48 hours after going aground on mudflats near Burnham-On-Sea. Two Burnham RNLI lifeboats towed the trimaran, to safety. Full details

TEENAGERS IN MUDFLATS DRAMA

TWO teenagers were helped to safety by Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards on Thursday afternoon (July 3rd) after they got into difficulty on the mudflats at Brean. The village's beach warden raised the alarm shortly before 4pm after three teenagers were struggling waist-deep in mud near Brean Down. Full details

STRICKEN YACHT PULLED TO SAFETY

A YACHT was pulled to safety by Burnham-On-Sea lifeboat crews on Wednesday (June 18th) after its owner got into difficulties in gusty winds next to the town's jetty. With Burnham's two lifeboats standing by, three crew entered the water to help pull the 17ft cabin sailing yacht from the sea. Full details

BUSY WEEKEND FOR TOWN LIFEBOATS

BOTH Burnham-On-Sea lifeboats were called out to assist the Royal Navy Bomb Disposal Team detonate a huge wartime bomb that was found by a fisherman on Stert Island. A helicopter exercise was also held on Sunday. Full details
