Exclusive: Visitor numbers soar at re-launched Burnham swimming
pool
The
number of people visiting Burnham-On-Sea swimming pool has soared
since the facility re-opened as the Swim and Sports Academy almost
a month ago.
The
new bosses, Mark Conklin and Sara Cox-Conklin (pictured), told
Burnham-On-Sea.com this week they have been "overwhelmed"
by the support shown.
The
academy opened its doors for the first time last
month and has since attracted thousands of visitors, much
to the delight of its new owners.
"We're
very pleased with the first few weeks," Mark told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"The numbers have exceeded our hopes."
"The
afternoon swimming sessions have proven incredibly popular and
have even been selling out, while even the early morning swim
sessions have been very busy."
Mark
added that the academy's Starbucks coffee shop, which is located
near the entrance to the building, has been busy as well.
"It's
been a very busy first month and we thank everyone for their support,"
he added.
Sara
and Mark spent six weeks modernising the Berrow Road premises
since taking over its lease from Sedgemoor District Council in
May following months of uncertainty about its future.
