Football Association to hold coaching roadshow in Burnham-On-Sea
Young
football players in Burnham-On-Sea can get playing tips from top
professionals this Friday (August 22nd) when The Football Association
holds an FA Skills Coaching Roadshow in the town.
The
event will be held at Burnham-On-Sea's Tesco store in Ben Travers
Way from 11am-3pm and will offer girls and boys aged 5-11 the
chance to learn new tricks, as well as win sports prizes.
Coaches
will be giving a taster of the 'FA Skills Programme' through the
delivery of fun games such as 'target practice', 'speed camera
shooting' and 'learn tricks'.
The
youngsters will also have the chance to win a place on an FA Skills
coaching day alongside England internationals Frank Lampard and
Kelly Smith (pictured above). There's no need to book - children
can just turn up and enjoy the fun.
Launched in July 2007, The FA Skills Programme is a three-year
nationwide programme co-ordinated by The FA and funded by Tesco
and the National Sports Foundation. It aims to give skills coaching
to one million 5-11 year olds by July 2010.
66
full time FA professional coaches have been recruited for the
scheme, who have all gone through a special FA-devised Level 3
coaching course at Keele University. For further information,
